Data Reconciliation: a Robust Approach Using Contaminated Distribution. Application to a Petrochemical Process

چکیده
On-line optimisation provides a means for maintaining a process around its optimum operating range. An important component of optimisation relies in data reconciliation which is used for obtaining consistent data. On a mathematical point of view, the formulation is generally based on the assumption that the measurement errors have Gaussian probability density function (pdf) with zero mean. Unfortunately, in the presence of gross errors, all of the adjustments are greatly affected by such biases and would not be considered as reliable indicators of the state of the process. This paper proposes a data reconciliation strategy that deals with the presence of such gross errors. Application to total flowrate and concentration data in a petroleum network transportation is provided Copyright c 2005 IFAC.

متن کاملOn-Line Nonlinear Dynamic Data Reconciliation Using Extended Kalman Filtering: Application to a Distillation Column and a CSTR
Extended Kalman Filtering (EKF) is a nonlinear dynamic data reconciliation (NDDR) method. One of its main advantages is its suitability for on-line applications. This paper presents an on-line NDDR method using EKF. It is implemented for two case studies, temperature measurements of a distillation column and concentration measurements of a CSTR. In each time step, random numbers with zero m...
متن کاملExtended Support Vector Regression Based Data Reconciliation and Its Application to Plant-wide Mass Balance
Process data measurements are important for process monitoring, control and optimization. However, process data may be deteriorated by gross errors in measurements. Therefore, it is significant to detect and estimate gross errors with data reconciliation. Meanwhile, in any modern petrochemical plant, the plant-wide mass data derived from process data rendering the real conditions of manufacturi...
متن کاملAn Effective Approach for Robust Metric Learning in the Presence of Label Noise
Many algorithms in machine learning, pattern recognition, and data mining are based on a similarity/distance measure. For example, the kNN classifier and clustering algorithms such as k-means require a similarity/distance function. Also, in Content-Based Information Retrieval (CBIR) systems, we need to rank the retrieved objects based on the similarity to the query. As generic measures such as ...
متن کاملA Two-Phase Robust Estimation of Process Dispersion Using M-estimator
Parameter estimation is the first step in constructing any control chart. Most estimators of mean and dispersion are sensitive to the presence of outliers. The data may be contaminated by outliers either locally or globally. The exciting robust estimators deal only with global contamination. In this paper a robust estimator for dispersion is proposed to reduce the effect of local contamination ...
